BRONX, NY — The New York State Car Wash Association (NYSCWA) and the Car Wash Operators of New Jersey (CWONJ) held their first joint event here when the New York Yankees took on the Kansas City Royals on April 15. Some 60 carwashers and friends maxed out Party Suite 6 to watch the Bronx Bombers in a 4-2 win over the Royals fueled by a strong performance from the team’s slugging ability.
The joint event was the first such outing for the two neighboring associations. “It just makes sense to hold some events together since we boarder each other and have many common challenges,” said NYSCWA President Walt Hartl. “I think the setting was outstanding and being able to enjoy such a luxurious suite with carwash friends and family is a great experience for everyone.”
The event featured ballpark food including hot dogs, sliders and pizza, as well as alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages and several dessert options. “We had three sponsors who helped us make this event a reality,” said Hartl. “I’d like to thank Simoniz USA, our Grand Slam Sponsor; Micrologic, our Home Run Sponsor and G & G Industrial Lighting, our Triple Play Sponsor for their continued support of both associations. We could not do what we do without the strong relationships we have with our vendors.”
The CWONJ is holding its next event on May 21 when it tours washes in Monmouth County and the NYSCWA heads to Westchester County on June 11. To learn more and register for these events visit cwonj.com and nyscwa.com
